Credit Requirements

Minimum ECTS Credits Required: 60 ECTS credits

Your degree programme must include at least 60 ECTS credits in Technologyor closely related modules. These credits must be from a Level 8 degree programme (as defined by the National Framework of Qualifications in Ireland).

Note: Only ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits are accepted for Subject Declaration Forms. Credits from other systems (such as CATS or US credits) cannot be used.

All essential areas are required. You must cover all of the following areas:

  • Product Design and Manufacture
  • Materials Technology and Processing
  • Applied Electronic and Control Systems
  • Information and Communications Technology
  • Manufacturing Systems
  • Structural & Mechanical Systems

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for a Technology Subject Declaration Form, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold or be pursuing a Level 8 degree programme (as defined by the NFQ in Ireland)
  • Have completed modules in Technology or closely related areas
  • Have sufficient ECTS credits in Technology (60 credits minimum)
  • Modules must be from an ECTS-credited programme
  • Cover the required essential areas of study listed above
  • Have studied Technology up to and including third-year level or higher
