Credit Requirements
Minimum ECTS Credits Required: 60 ECTS credits
Your degree programme must include at least 60 ECTS credits in Engineeringor closely related modules. These credits must be from a Level 8 degree programme (as defined by the National Framework of Qualifications in Ireland).
Note: Only ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits are accepted for Subject Declaration Forms. Credits from other systems (such as CATS or US credits) cannot be used.

All essential areas are required. You must cover all of the following areas:
- Health & Safety
- Product Design and Realisation
- Materials Technology and Processing
- Power, Energy and Control
- Information and Communications Technology (as applicable to Engineering)
- Structural & Mechanical Systems
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for a Engineering Subject Declaration Form, you must meet the following requirements:
- Hold or be pursuing a Level 8 degree programme (as defined by the NFQ in Ireland)
- Have completed modules in Engineering or closely related areas
- Have sufficient ECTS credits in Engineering (60 credits minimum)
- Modules must be from an ECTS-credited programme
- Cover the required essential areas of study listed above
- Have studied Engineering up to and including third-year level or higher
